This is a first-person walk-through experience I created in my graduate Computer Game Art and Design class. The assets were modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and the scene was assembled and lit in Unity. The interactive experience explores the concept of nested spaces in video games. Most nested spaces are presented in virtual outdoor environments, where players can enter buildings that act as sub-dimensions of the game world. This project however is a continuous interior environment, but by modifying the player scale and perspective, the players are able to experience this space as one of the multiple boundaries and multiple sub-dimensions, as they have the chance to explore the environment by discovering objects that contain other miniature worlds. These miniature worlds represent "spaces within spaces", and the experience of those is entirely dependent on the player's perspective, which in turn defines how complex and interactive this virtual world is.
